Madensuyube

22:50 | The driving force behind Madensuyu is the struggle to deal with real, raw emotions and the continuing fight to be vulnerable and uncompromised in a timeframe where authenticity has become a rare commodity. After one EP: 'Adjust We' (2005) and two longplayers: 'A Field Between' (2006), 'D Is Done' (2008) they broke their silence last year with the critically acclaimed 'Stabat Mater' (2013).
'Stabat Mater' grasps the essence of who they are and their unique 2-man sound. Madensuyu lift Stabat Mater from the classical tradition (it has been put to music by Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Pärt and others) and incorporate different elements of classical music into their own musical language. This way, Madensuyu make a bold statement, but at the same time they place 'rock' music (and themselves) in a broader (and humbling) timeframe.

Thus Owlsca

21:40 | Thus Owls are a five-piece Montreal/Stockholm band based around husband and wife duo Erika and Simon Angell. The band originated in Sweden as an outlet for Erika's songs and unique vocal-style. She met Simon by chance while the two were touring in Europe as part of different bands paired on the same bill. It wasn't long before they were married, and making music together as Thus Owls. Their third album, 'Turning Rocks,' was released worldwide by Secret City Records on April 8, 2014.

She Keeps Beesusa

20:30 | She Keeps Bees is a blues rock band from Brooklyn, New York, consisting of Jessica Larrabee on vocals and guitar and Andy LaPlant on drums. They have been compared to the likes of Patti Smith, the White Stripes, PJ Harvey and Cat Power.

The duo formed in 2006, while Larrabee was recording an album as a solo artist under the name She Keeps Bees ("bees" coming from her surname) and met LaPlant while bartending. He soon helped to produce her music and started attending her shows, until she suggested he play with her. They have self-produced/released three records as a band since forming and have toured both the US and Europe with artist such as Joy Formidable and Sharon Van Etten. Larabee has also been a guest vocalist for Sharon van Etten and on Groove Armada's Grammy-nominated album Black Light.
